Two new families of Instance types are now generally available to all Exoscale customers: CPU Optimized and Memory Optimized Instance Types offer a specialized mix of memory and dedicated CPU resources to boost efficiency and performance-to-cost ratio of your workloads.

CPU Optimized Instances

CPU Optimized Instances provide higher CPU-to-memory ratio than their Standard equivalent, resulting the best choice for CPU-intensive workloads like CI/CD servers, batch processing, media decoding and encoding, network appliances, and any application that requires increased computing capability.

CPU Optimized Instances come in the following configurations:

CPU OptimizedRAMCPU Cores
CPU-EXTRA-LARGE168
CPU-HUGE3216
CPU-MEGA6432
CPU-TITAN12840

While doubling the CPU allocation CPU Optimized Instances are only 25% more expensive than their Standard counterpart.

Memory Optimized Instances

Alongside CPU Optimized Instances we are also releasing four additional Memory Optimized Instances with an adapted mix of memory allocation per CPU. Compared to their Standard counterpart, Memory Optimized Instances are 25% less expensive.

Memory OptimizedRAMCPU Cores
MEMORY-EXTRA-LARGE162
MEMORY-HUGE324
MEMORY-MEGA648
MEMORY-TITAN12812

Memory Optimized Instances are recommended for in-memory cache services like Redis® or Memcache, and are ideal for high-performance SQL or NoSQL databases.
